Pennsic XX - Ozzy Osborne on Top! (1991)
 In 1991 Clan Die Fledermaus returned with double the number of bats. Sam, Fitz, Lea, Kevin and Melanie returned and brought Dave Jones, Frank and Jay along for the ride. We camped on “the island” which is currently possessed by Lynx. Lea and Kevin were still merchanting this year and had to spend quite a lot of time in the market place again. However, they were able to employ Sam, Fitz, Frank and Jay to entertain the crowds for them during Midnight Madness. They sang a wonderful rendition of “The Wench’s Chests are Mighty Fine” (to the tune of Greensleeves). Kevin was very proud of the new merchant tent which he had purchased and was overheard telling Keith how he could fit so many women in there, he had them “lined up from one end to the other and was just hopping from one girl to the next!” Keith was amazed and began preparations to purchase his own pavilion so that he could do the same.
This year an interesting new biological hierarchy was developed. Apparently while watching the bats feed over the lake it was deduced that:
- mosquitoes were eating the humans, so humans must be at the bottom of the local food chain.
- Bats were eating the mosquitoes.
- Together, this must mean that Ozzy Osborne is in fact at the top of the food chain (Medieval logic?).
Once again beef BBQ pizza was enjoyed on the trip home. Apparently BBQ is at the complete nadir of the food chain.
